Day 1 Acireale

This history and culture trip will start in Acireale, a beautiful coastal town in Catania, Sicily. Located at the foot of Mount Etna and boasting an all-encompassing view of the Mediterranean, Acireale is an idyllic starting point for your holidays
in Italy. After you have settled in, you can spend the day relaxing at your hotel or strolling at the city’s piazzas. Overnight in Acireale.
Day 2 Acireale

After breakfast, you’ll embark on a day trip to Syracuse, one of the most important and wealthiest Greek towns of the ancient world. There, you’ll be joined by an experienced archaeologist, who’ll take you on a history tour of the
town. One of the major archaeological sites you’re going to visit will be the Archaeological Park of Neapolis. There, you’ll get to see several buildings of the Greek period, including the Ancient Greek Theatre and the Roman Amphitheatre. You’ll also visit several buildings of the Cristian period, like the Cathedral of Syracuse, the Basilica de Santa Lucia, the Church of Saint Christoforo, and many more Byzantine churches and palazzos. After the day trip, you can spend the remainder of the day at your leisure. Overnight in Acireale.
Day 3 Acireale

Today, you’ll go hiking to Mount Etna, the biggest active volcano in Italy. An expert naturalistic guide will take you on a hiking tour through the craters of Etna volcano. Along the way, you’ll get to learn everything about the
fascinating history of Etna, enjoy breathtaking views, take in the lunar scenery, and visit a volcanic cave! At the end of the tour, you’ll savor a traditional meal accompanied by Sicilian wine and have the rest of the day free. Overnight in Acireale.
Day 4 Acireale-Agrigento

The fourth day of this trip is going to be dedicated to temples. After breakfast, you’ll depart for Agrigento, a beautiful hilltop town on the southwest coast of Sicily. There, you’ll visit the impressive Valley of the Temples (Valle dei
Templi), a monumental archaeological site full of 2,000-year-old Greek temples and ruins that will travel you back in time and fire your imagination. The Valley of the Temples is home to seven Doric Temples, the most ancient of which is the Temple of Hercules. After the tour of the Valley of the Temples, you can spend the rest of the day at your leisure. Overnight in Agrigento.
Day 5 Agrigento-San Vito Lo Capo

After breakfast, you’ll depart for Selinunte. Selinunte was one of the most important ancient Greek cities in Sicily. At the archaeological park of Selinunte, you’ll find the impressive Acropolis with five temples, Gaggera Hill, Mannuzza Hill, the East Hill, and
some necropoleis. After visiting the temples and ancient ruins of Selinunte, you’re going to enjoy a rustic Italian meal made with the freshest ingredients. The next stop will be San Vito Lo Capo, an idyllic seaside town in north-western Sicily, where you’re going to spend the night.
Day 6 San Vito Lo Capo

Today, you can spend the day at your leisure! You can go swimming at the beautiful public beach of San Vito Lo Capo, go climbing at the mountains that surround the town, enjoy a hearty Sicilian meal by the sea,
go sightseeing, or just laze under the Mediterranean sun. Overnight in San Vito Lo Capo.
Day 7 San Vito Lo Capo-Palermo

After breakfast, you’ll be off to your next destination, Palermo. Palermo, the capital of Sicily, is a place that breathes culture and history. Combining stunning Renaissance architecture with mouthwatering food, this city is a unique mix of flavors, scents, and
landscapes. We’ll have booked for you to go on a tour with an experienced guide who’ll take you to all the must-visit places of the city. Some of the attractions you’re going to visit are the Catacombe dei Cappuccini, Norman Palace, Cappella Palatina, and Quattro Canti. At the end of the tour, you’ll savor a delicious meal at a traditional Sicilian restaurant in Palermo. Overnight in Palermo.
Day 8 Palermo-Taormina

Today, you’ll continue your trip to Taormina, a charming town on the east coast of Sicily. After you have settled in, you can set off to explore the town and visit the main attractions, including the Greek Theatre, Villa Comunale
di Taormina, Piazza IX Aprile, and Duomo di Taormina. Alternatively, you can go to one of Taormina’s many beaches or enjoy the view from the terrace of your hotel while you sip on a Bellini. Overnight in Taormina.
Day 9 Taormina

On the final day of this trip, you can spend the morning lying on the beach or relaxing at your hotel before our driver transfers you to the airport to catch a flight back home or to your next destination.

We loved the history of Sicily!

We booked this tour because we’ve always wanted to visit Sicily as a family. It was everything we had imagined and more! We visited the most picturesque villages and felt like locals during the tour. The hotels, the wine, and the food were excellent. The sites we visited were amazing (we loved the valley of the Temples) and our guides were true professionals! It was a magical trip for our family, thank you!

We have never used a travel agency and it was our first organized trip abroad, so we were skeptical. But, everything was perfect from the start to the end of the tour. The staff helped us organize our trip and customized it to fit our needs. There are many interesting tours and fun activities in this tour, but they are optional so you can skip them! The staff is always there for you and makes everything easy and fun. Highly recommended!
