Sailing to Kimolos

Kimolos is part of the Cyclades island complex, the most popular cluster of islands in Greece! The Cyclades is one of the best destinations for island-hopping, as the islands are close to each other and ferry schedules are frequent. Kimolos, in particular, can easily be part of an island-hopping that includes nearby islands like Milos, Sifnos, Serifos, Paros, and Naxos.

But, although the Cyclades is a go-to for island-hopping, it is not the best option for sailing/yachting because of the Meltemi winds. These strong northern winds batter the Aegean in July and August, making sailing challenging and even dangerous for inexperienced sailors. Chorio, which means village in Greek, is the picturesque capital of the island. Things to do in Kimolos

At the center of Chorio lies the Medieval Kastro (Castle), an architectural reminder from the Venetian occupation. The Castro district consists of two main quarters Mesa Kastro and Exo Kastro, the first of which was built in the 13th century and the second in the 17th century. The moment you pass the gate of the castle, you will feel transferred back in time! To continue your time-traveling adventure, move on to the Archaeological Museum of Kimolos, which displays archaeological findings from excavations carried out throughout the island. The best time to visit Kimolos

The best time to visit Kimolos is from May to September. Unlike other Cycladic islands, Kimolos is not overcrowded during peak season (June to August), so you can enjoy its laid-back atmosphere even in the height of summer.
